Dear families,
In this week's white TDSB bags you will find our three new "refridgerator words" which are THAT, GO and AT. Please practice them at home with your child. We also completed letter formation exercies and did our September calendars. We read the wonderful book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom together and made a coconut tree with our own names on it. We also completed Upper and Lower Case letter exercises with a coconut tree theme. If there is work in your child's bag that they were unable to complete in class please have them complete it at home and return on Monday.
The children did a wonderful job singing the Safety Song at our first Sharing Assembly, and they also enjoyed collecting fall leaves during our Terry Fox walk on Wednesday. We completed a booklet entitled "Leaves" in which the SK children wrote the names of leaf colours and the JKs cut and pasted the names. We are also learning a Fall Song and I must say that the children are really learning their "high frequency words" well! Good for them!
Our morning and afternoon classes classes are visiting the Book Fair on Thursday October 6th. Placing money in a labeled baggie is a great idea for the younger children. Students who bring a bag for their purchases will get a ballot for a draw!
Thank you to our Parent Volunteers this week: Jacob's mom was a Mystery Reader, Carly's dad did the morning and afternoon bags (and Carly helped too!), Logan's mom helped complete the afternoon bags, and Reading Club volunteers were Charlie's mom and Tatum's mom.
If your child received his/her first Snuggle Book today, please read the book with your child, sounding out and pointing to the words as you read. Your child will receive a new, different book each week if the old book is returned in the white TDSB bag.
Please remember to leave a pair of indoor shoes with your child to stay in their cubbies. Crocs work really well.
Have a wonderful weekend!
