Dear families,

For the next few weeks your child will be taking his/her Phonics duotang home on Friday. Please encourage your child to work on this duotang and return it by the following Wednesday. Thank you.

We are now learning about "popcorn words" which are Sight/High Frequency Words such as like, in to, no, am, I, that, etc. This week we focused on "I am" and the SKs are writing a book about "I am..." while the JKs completed a sight work book of the work "am."

We also are learning how to spell winter clothing words such as boots, hat, mittens, coat, and scarf.

Speaking of mittens, please provide your child with a pair of mittens to wear at tomorrow's Sharing Assembly for our Mitten Poem. Dana, Liam, Mason and Luca will be receiving certificates for the TDSB Characteristic of Teamwork. Congratulations!

We had visits from Mrs. Wilson's Grade 2 Readers who took turns reading a book and showing the pages to the children. Our grade 8s also assisted the children in their reading along with our Reading Buddies.

On Thursday our class will be celebrating Canada's flag and we are encouraged to wear RED and/or WHITE. Show your school spirit!
