Happy Family Day! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend.
Last week was a busy one, starting with the 100th Day of School of February 13th! A special THANK YOU to the moms of James, Catherine, Alex, Ellie, Elea, Ella and Maya for volunteering at our centres and helping the children with their numeracy skills! Thank you as well to Ethan's mom who was the Mystery Reader this week, and to Ruby who is collating this month's Scholastic orders. The next Scholastic Order will be due on March 10th.
The children also had fun doing many Valentine's Day numeracy and literacy activities, which included reading and colouring a booklet, wrote what a friend is, counted valentine items, and wrote valentine cards.
With their Reading Buddies, the children fixed a mixed-up 100-chart. The little ones also showed their buddies the treasure maps they made and explained how to get to the treasure. Their Reading Buddies wrote down the instructions!
The children are also completing 100th Day Art and writing: "When I am 100 I will be..." I will display these on the bulletin board when they're done. This will be one to keep!
